Lilith in Astrology Through the Signs and Houses

Lilith has gained significant attention in the field of astrology, captivating enthusiasts and practitioners alike. Often referred to as the “Dark Moon,” she represents a primal, untamed energy that resides within each individual. Not a physical celestial body like the Sun or Moon, Lilith is rather a hypothetical point in space. She symbolizes our deepest desires, hidden fears, and unexpressed aspects of ourselves. Lilith’s influence can be intense and transformative, urging us to confront our inner demons and embrace our most authentic selves. For some, however, this could mean facing parts of ourselves that are rather grim, callous, or simply malevolent.

We can find many stories and other accounts of the infamous Lilith throughout history. She is often depicted in mythology as a supernatural being; sometimes as a demon, a dark goddess, or a cruel, feminine ruler. Her origins can be traced back to Mesopotamia, Israel, and other ancient mythologies nearly Eastern. In Mesopotamian mythology, Lilith was believed to be a female demon who preyed on infants and pregnant women. She was associated with sexual desire and was considered a threat to patriarchal society.

In Jewish mythology, Lilith is mentioned in ancient texts like the Babylonian Talmud and the Alphabet of Ben Sira. According to these texts, she was the first wife of Adam before Eve. Lilith refused to be subservient to Adam, however, and left the Garden of Eden. Later, she was portrayed as a succubus who would harm newborns and men during their sleep. Lilith’s portrayal and significance can vary across different mythological traditions, religious interpretations, and cultural beliefs.

Diablo is a long-time popular PC game. Recently, Diablo 4 was released on multiple platforms. In the fourth edition of Diablo, Lilith takes center stage as the Queen of the Succubi. In other words, she’s the ruler of a race of demons. Also important to note, she’s the daughter of one of the most powerful entities in the game. He’s known as Mephisto and is the Lord of Hatred.

With that said, in Astrology, Lilith is the part of us that is unwilling to be tamed.

That’s right…………

Lilith examines the part of us that may lie dormant and dwell deep within, waiting to be awakened and set free. Whether we perceive ourselves as light or darkness, there exists a bit of darkness in all light and light in all darkness, for one can’t exist in our reality without the other. Therefore, Lilith can tell us where that darkness may reside.
